Ayesha Khan stands up to troll; refuses to be intimidated by Bollywood backlash

Ayesha Khan, the actress known for her recent hit “Shararat” in the film Dhurandhar, found herself at the center of a controversy after she was detained by Mumbai Police on July 22 while attending a student protest. The actor had traveled with her brother and several friends to the protest venue in Dadar to show solidarity with students demanding reforms in the NEET examination process. According to Khan’s own video, she was seized by police officers before she could even join the demonstration and was forcibly shoved into a police van.

In the footage, Khan recounts being dragged by four or five officers and being unable to resist being taken inside the van. She says she and her companions repeatedly asked the officers why they were being detained, but received no answers or accountability. The group was then transported from Dadar to Worli, where Khan was held for the remainder of the day.

After the incident, Khan posted the video on her Instagram Stories, detailing the sequence of events and expressing her frustration at the lack of explanation. The post quickly drew attention from the public, but also from a hostile social media user who sent her a direct message warning that her support for the protest could cost her future work in Bollywood.

Responding to the threat, Khan shared a screenshot of the message on her Instagram Stories and replied, “I would rather lose my career than lose my spine. Scare someone else, thank you, bye‑bye.” The actress made it clear that she would not let intimidation affect her activism or her professional life.

Since the incident, Khan has continued to use her platform to voice support for the ongoing student protests. She regularly shares updates and posts in solidarity with the movement, refusing to be silenced by either police action or online harassment.
