Ramesh, the actor best known for his supporting role in Pawan Kalyan’s 2012 hit Gabbar Singh, was admitted to Apollo Hospital after suffering a severe brain stroke. Hospital staff are monitoring his condition closely as he receives treatment for the stroke.
News of the actor’s medical emergency quickly spread throughout the Telugu film community. Chiranjeevi, one of the industry’s biggest stars, reached out to Apollo Hospital’s Dr. Subba Reddy to stay informed about Ramesh’s progress. In a gesture of solidarity, Chiranjeevi presented a cheque worth ₹3 lakh to Ramesh’s family and assured them that the state government’s medical insurance scheme would provide additional support.
Ramesh’s brother, fellow actor Naga Babu, also stepped in, contributing a cheque of ₹2 lakh. Together, the two actors donated a total of ₹5 lakh to help cover Ramesh’s medical expenses. A photo shared by Vamsi Shekar on Twitter showed the two celebrities handing the cheques to the actor’s relatives, with the tweet noting that “Megastar @KChiruTweets Garu extended ₹3 lakh towards Gabbarsingh actor Ramesh’s treatment after learning of his brain stroke and assured all possible support. Shri @NagaBabuOffl Garu also contributed ₹2 lakh.”
Director Harish Shankar, who collaborated with Ramesh on Gabbar Singh, also visited Apollo Hospital to meet the family. He offered words of encouragement and provided additional financial assistance, underscoring the tight-knit nature of the industry’s support network.
Ramesh first gained recognition in the Telugu film industry with his role in Gabbar Singh, where he played a gang member who quickly became a fan favourite thanks to his comic timing and memorable scenes. After the film’s success, he worked with Pawan Kalyan again in Attarintiki Daredi and Sardar Gabbar Singh, solidifying his reputation as a reliable comic villain. He has since appeared in numerous other projects, establishing himself as a respected actor and comedian in the industry.
