John Mulaney Takes Manhattan; 9-Night NYC Residency

Comedian John Mulaney has announced a nine‑night residency in New York City that will culminate at Madison Square Garden in January 2027. Titled “Mulaney Takes Manhattan,” the run will take place from January 7 to January 15, 2027, with each night staged at a different iconic venue and featuring a unique lineup of special guests and experiences.

The schedule is as follows: January 7 at the Comedy Cellar; January 8 at the Blue Note; January 9 at Joe’s Pub; January 10 at the Bowery Ballroom; January 11 at the Music Box Theatre on Broadway; January 12 at the Beacon Theatre; January 13 at Carnegie Hall; January 14 at Radio City Music Hall; and January 15 at Madison Square Garden. The plan was revealed during Mulaney’s appearance on TODAY on July 28, where he explained that instead of a single or triple show, he would “do a very special run” across nine venues.

Fans can apply for tickets through Mulaney’s official website, where the show’s unique format—intimate venues building up to larger stages—will be highlighted. Mulaney noted that the residency would allow him to perform in smaller settings before scaling up to Radio City Music Hall and the Garden, the latter of which he will be the first comedian to headline.

Returning to Radio City holds particular significance for the comedian, who previously filmed one of his stand‑up specials there. He added, “This is very, very cool, I must say. I’m doing something very cool, and I’m a very cool person.” The announcement follows his recent milestone of headlining Chicago’s Wrigley Field, where he described the experience as “iconic” and likened it to “playing a spaceship.”

With the residency set to offer a different experience each night, Mulaney’s “Mister Whatever Tour” is poised to bring a fresh comedic journey through some of New York City’s most celebrated venues.
