Unmadham Box Office; Records Growth on Day 2

Malayalam psychological mystery thriller Unmadham, starring Kunchacko Boban, Lijomol Jose and Sudheesh, has posted a modest uptick in its second‑day earnings after a 31‑percent occupancy rate on Saturday, August 1. According to box‑office tracker Sacnilk, the film netted an estimated ₹78 lakh in India on Day 2 from 636 shows, up from ₹70 lakh on its opening Friday – a day‑on‑day growth of roughly 11.4 percent.

These figures bring Unmadham’s cumulative India net collection to ₹1.48 crore after two days, while the gross stands at ₹1.72 crore. The Saturday haul surpassed the Friday business, indicating a positive momentum as the film moves into its third day of theatrical release.

The movie, released on July 31, 2026, follows a police constable who is drawn into an old, unresolved case that forces him to confront past events and hidden truths. It marks the feature‑directorial debut of editor Kiran Das, with a screenplay by Shahi Kabir.

Produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak, with co‑producers Ram Mirchandani and Rajesh Menon and creative producer Abhinav Mehrotra, the film features cinematography by Arjun Sethu and music composed by Mujeeb Majeed. Editing was handled by Kiran Das and Jithin John, while production design, audio, costume and makeup were led by Dileep Nath, Jithin Joseph, Gayathri Kishore and Ronex Xavier respectively.

The picture is presented by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, T‑Series Films and Panorama Studios, the latter also handling worldwide theatrical distribution. With Day 3 scheduled for August 2, the opening‑weekend total will be clearer once Sunday’s final collections are reported.
