Cinema VinesIn a shocking turn of events during the finale of “Lock Upp Sach Ya Sazaa,” Harshad Chopda, who had been the first finalist in the reality show, chose to exit the competition to ensure that Shivangi Joshi would secure the spot as a finalist. The decision stunned both the audience and the other contestants, as Chopda voluntarily evicted himself despite the pleas from fellow inmates who urged him to stay.
After the show, the actor spoke to Tejasswi Prakash about his experience. When Prakash mentioned that she hadn’t expected him to leave the show so early, Chopda explained that his strategy was “no game.” He said he wanted to be authentic and didn’t worry about how viewers would react, only that he wouldn’t display his emotional side. Prakash recalled that Chopda had cried frequently, yet he never appeared to play a personal game, instead becoming a protector for Shivangi Joshi. Chopda replied that their friendship had been solid for a while, and in the confined environment of the house—where food was scarce and 15 to 16 people were competing—he simply followed the situation as it unfolded.
During the premiere, hosts Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh asked Chopda why he keeps his private life away from the public. He opened up about a painful chapter, revealing that in 2010 he lost both a friend and a girlfriend, the latter of whom cheated on him with his best friend. This betrayal made him more cautious about sharing personal details. He also disclosed that he was sexually harassed as a child, a fact that resonated with other contestants such as Ram Kapoor, who had previously shared a similar experience. Chopda emphasized that many children endure such trauma and that it is our responsibility to raise them with care and love.
“Lock Upp 2” is hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan and places celebrities in a jail-themed house where they must survive by completing tasks while facing allegations. The show is set to conclude tonight, with the winner taking home a cash prize of ₹1 crore. The drama of Chopda’s exit and his candid revelations have added a new layer of intrigue to the finale, leaving viewers eager to see how the rest of the competition will unfold.
