At 83, Amitabh Bachchan is defying age with a work routine that would challenge many younger actors. The legendary star revealed on his blog that he spent a continuous 24‑hour shift, starting at 7 a.m. the previous day and finishing just after 7 a.m. the next morning, leaving almost no time for rest.
In his post, Big B wrote, “…got hold of time in time…finished work at 7 am this morning…of work that began at 7 am yesterday…but the importance of its presentation and its timely work was necessary…so DID IT.” He added that he would be shooting for “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (KBC) on the same day, August 6, and that the first broadcast date was announced, warning that missing it could mean a job replacement.
Season 18 of KBC will premiere on Monday, August 10 at 9 p.m. on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV, with weekday episodes following. The new season, themed “Sochna Padega,” focuses on the idea that in an era of ubiquitous knowledge, the real edge lies in interpretation, connection, and application.
Alongside his hosting duties, Bachchan is also preparing for the sequel to Nag Ashwin’s blockbuster “Kalki 2898 AD.” The film will bring back Prabhas and Kamal Haasan, while Deepika Padukone, who starred in the first instalment, will not return. Although rumors suggest Sai Pallavi could replace her, the makers have not confirmed any new cast.
The original film grossed over ₹1,000 crore worldwide, setting high expectations for the sequel. Bachchan’s relentless schedule and upcoming projects underscore his enduring presence in Indian cinema and television.
