Emraan Hashmi Returns as Shivam Pandit in Awarapan 2; Revenge and Rage

Actor Emraan Hashmi is set to return to the screen in his most iconic role in the upcoming sequel Awarapan 2, which was announced with a trailer released on August 6. Nearly 19 years after the original film’s success, Hashmi will reprise his character Shivam Pandit, a man who has endured unimaginable pain and is now driven by revenge, redemption and a relentless mission that refuses to let him rest.

The new trailer opens with a striking visual of Shivam hanging from a pole in a downpour, a rod piercing his chest. Shabana Azmi’s character Nafisa then enters, delivering a chilling line that translates to “What a beautiful face you have… are you so eager to meet death?” From there, the footage moves at a relentless pace, blending brutal action with emotional moments and introducing new characters such as Disha Patani’s Zara, who hints at a fresh emotional connection for Shivam.

Supporting roles are highlighted with appearances from Puran Gabbi as Zorawar, Anirudh Rawal as Sikandar, Surendar Vicky as Jaideep, Vijayant Kohli as Mehmood and Atul Kumar as Samarth. A memorable scene shows Shivam surrounded by monks who tend to his wounds before he walks beside them, setting the stage for a montage of hard‑hitting action, bloody face‑offs and high‑stakes confrontations. The trailer ends with Shivam’s chilling warning, “Either you’ll die one by one, or all together?” but it deliberately avoids revealing plot details.

Music continues to be a cornerstone of the franchise. The soundtrack for Awarapan 2 brings together composers Mithoon, Jeet Gannguli, Amaal Malik, Ankit Sachdev and Wasif Ahmad, with lyrics penned by Sayeed Qadri, Rashmi Virag, Akhil Sachdeva and Sachin Singh Chandel. Songs such as “Ve Junoon,” “Yeh Awarapan” and “Toh Phir Aao” have already resonated with fans, and the trailer features “Tera Mera Rishta,” composed by Mithoon and sung by Saaj Bhatt, further amplifying the film’s buzz.
