Cinema VinesOn his birthday, veteran actor Murali Sharma confirmed his involvement in the upcoming pan‑Indian investigative thriller Operation Tral. The film, written and directed by Ratheesh Vega, already stars Jayasurya in the lead role, and the makers announced Sharma’s addition to the ensemble as a celebration of the actor’s 54th year.
Sharma, whose career spans Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam cinema, is set to play a prominent character alongside Jayasurya, Rithika Singh, Kavya Shetty, Anson Paul, Nandalal Krishnamoorthy, Vinay Rai, Siddique, Sai Kumar and Sirajudheen. The cast’s diversity is intended to strengthen the film’s pan‑Indian appeal.
“Operation Tral” is a large‑scale investigative thriller that follows national intelligence operations inspired by a real encounter between Indian armed forces and terrorists in Tral, Jammu & Kashmir. The story blends action, espionage and a patriotic narrative, with shooting locations spanning Kerala, Coimbatore, New Delhi, Kulu, Manali, Mussoorie and Ladakh.
Produced by Joby George Thadathil under Goodwill Entertainments, the project is set for a worldwide release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. Sunimol Joby co‑produces, while cinematography is handled by Najose and editing by Shafeeque V.B. Ratheesh Vega also composes the music and background score.
Project design is credited to Noble Jacob, production design to Sajeesh Thamarassery, and art direction to Suneesh Sodharan. Costume design is by Sameera Saneesh and Saritha Jayasurya, with makeup by Ronex Xavier.
