Mirzapur: The Movie trailer; promises intense gang rivalry and bloodshed

Mirzapur fans have finally got their long‑awaited treat: the makers of the hit series have dropped the full trailer for Mirzapur: The Movie on August 11, after teasing the audience with a short teaser earlier this month. The new footage gives viewers a taste of the chaos that will unfold as the story moves from the small screen to the silver screen.

The trailer sets the stage for a fresh chapter in the Mirzapur saga, picking up from the cliff‑hanger of Season 1 that aired in 2018. It shows the familiar power struggle between Guddu Bhaiya and Munna Bhaiya intensifying, with the promise of unprecedented “bhaukaal” and a wave of bloodshed, violence and confrontations that will push the series’ brutal tone to new extremes.

In addition to the original cast, the film expands its ensemble. Divyenndu, Ali Fazal, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Mohitt Maalik, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Pramod Pathak, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Shweta Tripathi and Sonal S. Chauhan join the franchise’s familiar faces, creating a larger canvas for the story.

Reprising his role as Kaleen Bhaiya, Pankaj Tripathi shared his excitement in an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times. He said that while doing dubbing work for the film, he was surprised at how much he enjoyed the footage, adding, “I even wondered, ‘Is it just because I’m part of the film that I’m enjoying it so much?’ Seeing the final footage ramped up my excitement; I can’t wait for the trailer to drop on the 11th.”

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh with a screenplay by Puneet Krishna, Mirzapur: The Movie is a joint venture between Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment. The film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel banner, with Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani serving as co‑producers. It is slated for theatrical release on September 4, 2026.
