Chiranjeevi Leaks Mega 158 Title; Reveals 'Kadiri' Before Official Announcement

During a promotional event for nephew Varun Tej’s new film Korean Kanakaraju, veteran Tollywood actor Chiranjeevi Konidela surprised the crowd by revealing the title of his upcoming 158th project. The announcement came ahead of the official launch scheduled for August 22, and it was delivered in a playful manner that has become a hallmark of the star’s public persona.

Chiranjeevi, who is well known for the “Chiru leaks” meme, had been nudged by the audience to spill details about the new film. He complied, saying, “Bobby, you made me say ‘bloody benchmark’. That’s not our title, no? Our title is…” The director, Bobby Kolli, interrupted him, insisting it was too early to disclose the name. Undeterred, Chiranjeevi joked that he would leak it himself when the time was right, calling the title “superb.”

During the event, a promotional video from the film’s launch pooja was shown in hopes that Chiranjeevi would “leak” the name. The actor’s enthusiasm was palpable, and he even hinted at the title with a dramatic pause, covering his mouth as he said, “It’s Kadiri, no?” When music composer Thaman S tried to restrain him, Chiranjeevi replied, “I can’t stop myself.”

Fans of the star, who have been awaiting news on his long‑delayed socio‑fantasy film Vishwambhara directed by Mallidi Vassishta, were surprised to see him move on to the next project. The earlier film, slated for a 2025 release, was postponed after lukewarm reactions to its teaser’s visual effects, and its future remains uncertain.

Chiranjeevi’s recent work includes the 2024 release of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu with Nayanthara, which earned over ₹300 crore at the box office. He is now filming Kadiri with director Bobby Kolli, while also preparing for a project with Srikanth Odeala. Meanwhile, Kolli is busy working on Nani’s The Paradise.
