Avanika Films, the new production house launched by producer Gaurav Verma, has unveiled its debut feature, Prem Keetanu. The film, co‑presented by Phars Films, is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on 2 October 2026.
Directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, known for works such as Sirf Ek Banda Kaafi Hai and Aspirants, the project brings together an ensemble cast that includes Veer Pahariya, Aafiya Sayed, Aparshakti Khurana, Rakesh Bedi and Nikhil Vijay. Veer Pahariya, who also stars in the action thriller Naam – To Live Is War, leads the story of a group of college boys who find themselves without marks, hope, or love, but with plenty of friends and heartbreaks.
“Prem Keetanu” is pitched as a youthful comedy that examines friendship, heartbreak, ambition and everyday struggles faced by young Indians. The narrative follows the characters through their college years, offering a humorous yet relatable view of how friendships and disappointments shape life during this formative period.
For Gaurav Verma, the film marks the beginning of Avanika Films’ journey. Prior to setting up his own banner, Verma worked as an independent producer with Red Chillies, contributing to critically acclaimed and commercially successful titles such as Darlings, Bhakshak, Jawan and Badla. Avanika Films aims to back stories that blend emotional authenticity with theatrical entertainment, and Prem Keetanu sets the tone for its planned slate of theatrical projects.
The release strategy targets younger audiences with themes of friendship, love and ambition, while also tapping into nostalgia for older viewers. With its 2 October 2026 debut, the film is expected to hit cinemas worldwide and position Avanika Films as a fresh voice in mainstream Indian cinema.
