Trisha Krishnan Sits with Vijay's Parents; Fueling Relationship Rumors

At the Independence Day celebrations held on Saturday morning at Fort St. George in Chennai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay proudly hoisted the national flag. While the ceremony was a showcase of patriotism, it was actress Trisha Krishnan who drew the most attention, appearing in a yellow saree with a green blouse and a bun adorned with a gajra. Her presence was highlighted by her sitting side‑by‑side with Vijay’s parents, SA Chandrasekhar and Shobha Chandrasekhar, a sight that sparked fresh speculation about the rumored romance between the actor‑turned‑politician and the actress.

Trisha’s attendance at the event was not her first public appearance with Vijay. She had previously joined him at his oath‑taking ceremony on May 10, where she was greeted by Vijay’s mother and later photographed waving to fans before being surrounded by supporters. The repeated public encounters, including matching outfits at a wedding reception in March and shared appearances at Keerthy Suresh’s wedding, have kept fans debating the nature of their relationship.

The speculation gained further fuel when Vijay’s long‑time wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, filed for divorce in February, citing alleged infidelity and referencing an unnamed actress. The case was later withdrawn after Sangeetha appeared via video conference and confirmed she no longer wished to pursue the petition. The court subsequently closed the matter, leaving the public to focus on the evolving dynamics between Vijay and Trisha.

Beyond the political headlines, Trisha continues to advance her film career. She recently starred in “Karuppu,” directed by RJ Balaji and featuring Suriya, which earned ₹238 crore worldwide. Her upcoming projects include “Vishwambhara,” a film helmed by Mallidi Vassishta starring Chiranjeevi, and the Malayalam feature “Ram,” directed by Jeetu Joseph and featuring Mohanlal, Samyuktha, Adil Hussain, and Durga Krishna. The release dates for these films are still pending.
