Cinema VinesAt Mumbai airport on a recent day, Bollywood veteran Govinda was photographed with a young actress, sparking rumours that the pair were romantically linked. The clip quickly went viral, and viewers on social media speculated that the actress, who is the daughter of actor Komal Rani Swarnkar, might be Govinda’s new girlfriend.
Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, reacted to the footage by calling him a “sugar daddy,” a remark that the actor found offensive. In a filmed statement to a paparazzo, Govinda dismissed Sunita’s comment and accused her of using her influence to tarnish his reputation. He said, “People from poor families come into the film industry; please don’t humiliate or defame them to such an extent that they run away or become afraid.” He added that Sunita’s remarks were damaging to his business and that she should respect his dignity.
Govinda went further, warning Sunita that the “group and gang” behind her were well‑known and that they would soon come forward. He told her that if she ever needed his help, she should stop “making such statements and running this podcast to humiliate me.” The actor also defended his choice of co‑stars, noting that many actors work with younger actresses and that such collaborations are common in the industry.
Sunita Ahuja’s original comment was that Govinda was “roaming with a girl his daughter’s age” and that he should “be ashamed.” She added that he “must have a standard” and that his status as a “rich sugar daddy” should be reflected in his conduct. The couple, married since 1987, have two children, Tina and Yashvardhan.
Govinda has previously faced allegations of infidelity, and Sunita admitted on the reality show Lock Upp Season 2 that he had engaged in multiple affairs. The actor is set to star with Komal Rani in upcoming films Roopa and Duniyadari, according to a Moneycontrol report.
