DC Box Office Hits 84 Crore; Second Week Collections Slightly Lower Than Expectations

The Tamil romantic action film DC continues to perform well at the box office, albeit with a slight drop in collections during its second week of theatrical run. According to the box office tracking site Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated ₹4.50 crore on its 10th day, which is lower than the ₹5.50 crore it collected on Saturday.

The decline in collection can be attributed to a decrease in occupancy, which stood at 42.2% across 2,216 shows on Sunday. Despite this, the film has still managed to accumulate an impressive ₹54.76 crore net in India, with its India gross collection standing at ₹63.06 crore after 10 days. The film also continued to rake in collections from overseas markets, with an estimated ₹1 crore earned on Day 10, taking its cumulative overseas gross to ₹21.25 crore.

This means that the film's worldwide gross collection has reached ₹84.31 crore after 10 days, a significant milestone for the film. The Tamil version of the film continued to account for the largest portion of the domestic collection, with an estimated ₹3.30 crore earned on Sunday, followed by the Telugu version which contributed ₹1.18 crore net, and the Hindi version, which recorded a negligible ₹0.02 crore net.

The film, directed by Arun Matheswaran, has been performing well since its release on August 7, with its collection rising to ₹7 crore on the second day before reaching ₹9.55 crore on Sunday. The film then recorded ₹6 crore on Monday, ₹5.55 crore on Tuesday, ₹5.25 crore on Wednesday and ₹4.15 crore on Thursday, before ending the first week with an estimated India net collection of ₹41.90 crore.

In its second weekend, the film collected approximately ₹2.86 crore on Friday and ₹5.50 crore on Saturday before adding ₹4.50 crore on Sunday. The film stars Lokesh Kanagaraj, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, and has been written and directed by Arun Matheswaran, produced by Sun Pictures.

DC follows the story of Devadas and his companions as they become involved in protecting a family affected by police brutality. While attempting to evade a police officer, they are drawn into circumstances involving justice, redemption and their relationships with the people around them. The film marks Lokesh Kanagaraj's debut as a lead actor.

With its impressive box office collection, DC is set to continue its successful run in the coming days. As the film continues to perform well, it will be interesting to see how it fares in the coming weeks and whether it can maintain its momentum at the box office.
