Vismaya Mohanlal's Thriller Nears ₹40 Crore; Second Week Collections Underwhelm

Malayalam thriller Thudakkam, starring debutante Vismaya Mohanlal in the lead, has collected an estimated ₹1.44 crore on its second Sunday, according to box office tracking site Sacnilk. This marks a decline of approximately 22.2% from the previous day's collection of ₹1.85 crore, indicating a slight dip in the film's box office performance. The film, directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, had a respectable opening weekend with a total of ₹10.40 crore, collected from its opening weekend.

The film's performance over the past week has been a mixed bag, with collections ranging from ₹2.55 crore on its opening day to ₹1.44 crore on its second Sunday. Despite this, Thudakkam has managed to cross the ₹20 crore mark in India, with a total of ₹20.34 crore. The film's India gross collection stands at ₹23.59 crore, while its cumulative overseas gross collections stand at ₹14.80 crore, making its worldwide gross collection ₹38.39 crore after 10 days.

Thudakkam, which opened in theatres on August 7, has been screened across 860 shows on its second Sunday, with an overall occupancy reported at 34%. The film's cast includes Mohanlal, Aashish Joe Antony, Bobby Kurian, Sai Kumar, Manoj K. Jayan, K. B. Ganesh Kumar, Miya George, and Jaffar Idukki, among others. The film's storyline revolves around a young woman whose life changes after an unexpected threat puts her in a difficult situation, and her attempts to deal with the circumstances and find a way forward.

With Day 11 underway, the focus now shifts to how Thudakkam performs during the weekdays of its second week. The film's director, Jude Anthany Joseph, has directed the film in collaboration with Akhil Krishna and Linish Nellikkal, who have shared the writing credits. Antony Perumbavoor has produced the project under Aashirvad Cinemas, with Dr. Emil Vincent and Dr. Anisha Antony serving as executive producers. Jakes Bejoy has composed the music, while Jomon T. John and Akhil George have handled the cinematography, with Sudeep Elamon serving as an additional director of photography.
