Writer Bilal Siddiqi has revealed that Netflix and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment are currently in talks about a second season of the satirical web series The Ba***ds of Bollywood. While Siddiqi stopped short of confirming an official renewal, he said the discussions are underway and that both parties are eager to revisit the world of Bollywood satire.
Speaking exclusively to NDTV, Siddiqi expressed his excitement, noting that the first season had been a success and that he hopes the series will return. He said, “I hope so too. Red Chillies and Netflix are talking, so there are things they want to speak about first. You know how it is. I hope so too. It’s very exciting. We pulled off a great season one and we will be happy to do it another time.” The writer made it clear that a green‑light has not yet been granted, but the possibility remains open.
Siddiqi also reflected on his collaboration with Aryan Khan, who made his directorial debut with the show. He praised Khan’s professionalism, describing him as “extremely aware of what is being said around and he’s got a great sense of humour.” The writer added that the team was “very honest” with each other and that there was little disconnect in understanding the references and ideas explored in the series.
Despite the positive tone of the conversation, Netflix and Red Chillies have yet to issue an official announcement regarding a second season. Fans of the show can expect further updates as negotiations progress, but for now the future of The Ba***ds of Bollywood remains uncertain.
