Meghan Markle eyes full‑time acting comeback; talks with Guy Ritchie over The Gentlemen Season 3

Meghan Markle, the former star of the legal drama Suits, is reportedly preparing to return to acting full‑time after a nine‑year hiatus. A new report from Deadline claims that the actress has entered preliminary discussions with director Guy Ritchie about a potential role in the Netflix series The Gentlemen, which is slated for a possible third season. The negotiations are described as being in the very early stages and remain speculative, as the show has not yet been renewed for another season.

The news surfaced shortly after the royal couple announced that they would be spending an extended period in the United Kingdom, following six years of residence in California. Markle’s return to the screen would come after her brief cameo in the 2025 Amazon MGM Studios film Close Personal Friends, but a full‑time comeback has not yet been confirmed.

Markle’s acting career began in the 2000s with small roles on television shows such as CSI: NY and in films like Horrible Bosses. Her breakthrough came in 2011 when she joined the cast of Suits as paralegal‑turned‑lawyer Rachel Zane. She rose to a leading role over the series’ run before stepping away from acting in 2018 after marrying Prince Harry. The couple left the United Kingdom for California in 2020 and have since produced Netflix projects, including the docu‑series Harry & Meghan and the documentary With Love, Meghan, as well as her own podcast, Archetypes.

Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen is a television adaptation of his 2019 film of the same name. The series follows aristocrat Eddie, played by Theo James, who inherits a family estate that turns out to be the base of a large weed empire. Season two, which premiered on Netflix on September 3, shows Eddie and Susie, portrayed by Kaya Scodelario, working together in a criminal organization led by Bobby, played by Ray Winstone. The show features a star‑studded ensemble that includes Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Jasmine Blackborow, Michael Vu, Harry Goodwins, Ruby Sear, Pearce Quigley, Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli, Michele Morrone, Sergio Castellitto, Amra Mallassi, Tyler Conti, Chris Eubank Jr., and Maya Jama.

Ritchie, who created the series, serves as writer alongside Matthew Read. While the potential involvement of Meghan Markle has not been officially confirmed, the possibility of her joining the cast has generated significant buzz among fans and industry insiders alike.
