Govinda’s son Yashvardhan Ahuja debuts in Bollywood; mother Sunita joins him in Hero Ki Horrorine

Govinda’s son Yashvardhan Ahuja is set to make his Bollywood debut in the horror‑comedy Hero Ki Horrorine, a film directed by Sajid Khan and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R. Kapoor and Amar Butala. The 2027 release, scheduled for January 7, will feature Yash alongside Nitanshi Goel of Laapataa Ladies fame, as well as Jamie Lever, Chunky Pandey, Brijendra Kala and Simrat Kaur Randhawa. In a rare on‑screen pairing, Sunita Ahuja, Govinda’s wife and Yash’s mother, will play the mother role in the film.

Earlier this week, the makers announced the project and Yash’s involvement, while Sunita spoke to ANI about her role. She said, “I’m working on a film with Yash. I have immense love and respect for Ekta Kapoor. It was because of her that I did a Netflix show, and we share a wonderful bond. In Yash’s film, I’m playing his mother. Perhaps this is the first time in the industry that a mother and son are being launched together.”

While the family celebrates Yash’s entry into cinema, Govinda’s personal life remains turbulent. His wife, Sunita, recently withdrew a divorce petition after claiming that Govinda was planning to marry a rumored girlfriend, actress Komal Rani Swarnkar. The withdrawal followed accusations from Sunita that Govinda was “Komal’s sugar daddy,” a claim that prompted Govinda to confront her over her language.

Despite the drama, Govinda is preparing to return to the silver screen with the film Roopa, his first feature in nearly seven years. The project also stars Komal Rani Swarnkar in the lead role, adding another layer to the public’s fascination with the actor’s personal and professional life.
