Poonam Dhillon hospitalized for dengue; Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital treats 64‑year‑old star

Poonam Dhillon, the 64‑year‑old Bollywood actress, was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital on August 22 after doctors diagnosed her with dengue fever. The veteran star has reportedly been receiving treatment for several days and is currently on the road to recovery, according to updates from journalist Vickey Lalwani.

Lalwani posted a brief Instagram message on the same day, noting that Dhillon had been in the hospital for “quite some days now.” He added that he had called the actress earlier that morning and received a reply that she was recovering. The journalist wished her a speedy recovery and expressed hope she would soon be able to return home.

The hospitalization comes amid a recent controversy involving the Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA), where Dhillon serves as president. Eight elected members of CINTAA’s Executive Committee resigned and demanded fresh elections, alleging that Dhillon, Senior Vice President Padmini Kolhapure and other committee members had taken over key decisions within the association.

Dhillon responded to the accusations, saying she was “shocked” by the claims. She defended her role in the association, stating that she and Kolhapure had been supporting CINTAA using their own resources and industry contacts.

As the dispute over CINTAA’s leadership continues, the actress’s health remains a priority. Further updates on Dhillon’s condition are awaited by her fans and the media alike.
