Actor Kartik Aaryan has returned home after a successful knee operation carried out at a Mumbai‑based hospital. The National Award winner suffered a knee injury while performing an action sequence on the sets of a film directed by Kabir Khan, prompting a prompt surgical intervention. According to a statement from his spokesperson, Aaryan is now recuperating at home and is expected to resume shooting soon.
The injury occurred during the production of the upcoming collaboration with director Kabir Khan. A source close to the shoot confirmed that the actor was admitted to Fortis Raheja Hospital and that doctors performed the surgery within a day. He will need a few days of rest before he can return to work, the source added.
Earlier this year, Aaryan had sustained a similar knee injury while filming his 2023 release “Shehzada.” Despite the setback, the actor’s career has been on an upward trajectory. On July 18, he was honored with the Best Actor in a Leading Role award at the 72nd National Film Awards for his portrayal of India’s first Paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar in the biographical sports drama “Chandu Champion.”
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Aaryan expressed his gratitude: “Still processing… Some moments are simply bigger than words, and this is one of them. A dream I've carried for years has finally come true. Forever humbled, forever grateful… Best Actor National Award #ChanduChampion.” He shared the accolade with Malayalam icon Mammootty, who received the award for his performance in “Bramayugam.” This marks Aaryan’s first National Award, while it is Mammootty’s fourth.
Following his recovery, Aaryan is slated to return to the set of Kabir Khan’s untitled film and also to shoot the remaining portions of Anurag Basu’s romantic drama opposite Sreeleela. The actor’s swift return to the camera is anticipated by fans and industry insiders alike.
