Bethlehem Kudumba Unit rockets 45% on Day 2; net climbs to ₹12.05 crore

The Malayalam romantic comedy Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has shown a strong second‑day performance, with its domestic net earnings climbing 45.9% to ₹7.15 crore on Saturday, August 22, according to box‑office tracker Sacnilk. The film opened on Friday, August 21, with a net take of ₹4.90 crore in India, and has now accumulated a cumulative domestic net of ₹12.05 crore after two days. Gross collections in the domestic market have reached ₹14.05 crore during the same period.

Internationally, the movie earned ₹13 crore in gross revenue on Saturday, boosting its overseas gross to ₹23.20 crore. When the domestic and overseas figures are combined, the worldwide gross stands at ₹37.25 crore after just two days of release.

The tracker also reports that the film was screened in 1,803 shows on Day 2, up from 1,507 on its opening day, and that occupancy rose from 58% to 74% between Friday and Saturday.

Directed by Girish A. D., who co‑wrote the screenplay with Kiran Josey, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit stars Nivin Pauly as Justin and Mamitha Baiju as Ashley. The supporting cast includes Sangeeth Prathap, Suresh Krishna, Vinay Forrt, Roshan Shanavas, Shyam Mohan, Shameer Khan, Srinda, Bindu Panicker and Meenakshy Raveendran. Production was handled by Dileesh Pothan, Fahadh Faasil and Syam Pushkaran under Bhavana Studios, with Vishnu Vijay composing the music, Ajmal Sabu on cinematography and Akash Joseph Varghese editing the film.

Released on August 21 ahead of the Onam weekend, the film’s Day 2 numbers indicate a positive trend, but its performance on Sunday will ultimately determine how strongly it closes its first weekend.
