Malayalam rom‑com “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” has already crossed the ₹50‑crore threshold, with the film’s opening weekend projected to exceed ₹60 crore. The movie, directed by Girish A D and released on 21 August, features Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju as Ashley and Justin, two neighbours whose friendship turns into a romance amid family expectations and social pressures.
Film‑industry tracker AB George announced on X that the film had amassed ₹50 crore worldwide by Sunday, the third day of its theatrical run. Earlier, the tracker had reported a two‑day total of roughly ₹39.42 crore, with Day 1 earnings of ₹16.02 crore and Day 2 at ₹23.40 crore. George’s later update confirmed the milestone was reached within the first three days.
Behind the scenes, Girish A D co‑produced the project with Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran under Bhavana Studios. The screenplay, written by Girish A D and Kiran Josey, was complemented by Vishnu Vijay’s music, Ajmal Sabu’s cinematography, and Akash Joseph Varghese’s editing. Production design was handled by Ashik S, while the visual effects team from Egg White VFX and DI work from Color Planet Studios contributed to the film’s polish.
The supporting cast includes Sangeeth Prathap, Suresh Krishna, Vinay Forrt, Roshan Shanavas, Shyam Mohan, Shameer Khan and Srinda, with additional appearances by Parvathy Ayyappadas, Meenakshy Raveendran, Sreeranjini, Vineeth Viswam, Bindu Panicker, Vettukili Prakash and Thankam Mohan. Sound design was managed by Sankaran A S and K C Sidharthan, with Vishnu Sujathan mixing the audio. Lyrics were penned by Suhail Koya and Vinayak Sasikumar.
As the film continues its first Sunday run, box‑office analysts are watching to see if the final Day 3 figure will lift the total beyond the ₹60‑crore mark, solidifying “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” as a commercial success in the Malayalam market.
