Cinema VinesNivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju’s Malayalam rom‑com Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has kept climbing the box‑office charts, posting a 23% jump on its third day and crossing the ₹20‑crore mark in India net collections. The Girish A. D.‑directed film opened on August 21 and, by Sunday, August 23, had earned an estimated ₹8.80 crore net across 1,781 screens, according to tracker Sacnilk. This figure represents the highest India net haul of the opening weekend, with the film’s three‑day net total now at ₹20.85 crore and a gross of ₹24.35 crore.
The growth is notable when compared to Saturday’s ₹7.15 crore net from 1,803 shows; Sunday’s earnings translate to a 23.1% rise. The first three days of the film’s run have seen a steady climb from ₹4.90 crore on Friday, to ₹7.15 crore on Saturday, and now to ₹8.80 crore on Sunday.
Internationally, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has also performed strongly, with an overseas gross of ₹11 crore on Day 3, bringing the overseas total to ₹36.70 crore after three days. Combining domestic and international figures, the worldwide gross has reached ₹61.05 crore.
The story, written by Girish A. D. and Kiran Josey, follows the romance between Ashley and Justin, set against neighbourhood dynamics, family expectations and social scrutiny, while tackling the complications of their age difference. The film features a supporting cast that includes Sangeeth Prathap, Suresh Krishna, Vinay Forrt, Roshan Shanavas, Shyam Mohan, Shameer Khan, Srinda, Parvathy Ayyappadas, Meenakshy Raveendran, Sreeranjini, Vineeth Viswam and Bindu Panicker.
Music for the film is composed by Vishnu Vijay, with Ajmal Sabu handling cinematography and Akash Joseph Varghese on editing.
