Cinema VinesAkshay Kumar has officially stepped into alien territory, beginning the shoot for his highly anticipated survival‑action thriller Samuk on August 23, 2026. The film marks the seventh collaboration between the star and producer‑filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah, and is being directed by Kanishk Varma. Production is set to unfold as a single, uninterrupted schedule, with roughly 90% of the shoot taking place in London and the remaining scenes slated for Mumbai.
Industry insiders confirm that the London shoot will serve as the backbone of the film, which blends military realism, survival horror and alien mythology. To bring the extraterrestrial world to life, the makers have assembled an international technical crew, including Academy Award‑nominated creature‑effects designer Alec Gillis, known for his work on the Alien and Predator franchises. Gillis has crafted the film’s central alien creature, while British action director Luke Tumber is responsible for designing the high‑octane action sequences.
Shah has emphasized the project’s global ambitions, noting that the film will be released worldwide in 2027. “We are going to shoot extensively abroad,” he told Bollywood Hungama, adding that the film is being developed to meet the expectations of audiences who now have access to global cinema through streaming platforms.
