According to an exclusive report from Bollywood Hungama, the film will star Siddhant Chaturvedi as a drummer and Alizeh Agnihotri as a singer, and production is slated to begin in September in the United Kingdom.
Set against the backdrop of 1990s London, Tribe draws inspiration from the rise of bhangra‑fusion pop during that decade. The story follows a generation of UK Punjabi youth who blended traditional folk melodies with Western musical styles, creating a vibrant cross‑cultural sound that resonated across age groups. The narrative is framed as a love story that explores themes of romance, ambition and identity amid this musical golden era.
Reliance Entertainment is producing the film, which will be shot largely in the UK and is expected to wrap up by the end of the year. The makers aim for a theatrical release in mid‑2027. While earlier rumors suggested the project might be a remake of the Hollywood film CODA, insiders have confirmed that Tribe is an original script.
For Siddhant Chaturvedi, this marks his second collaboration with Bahl after the upcoming romantic comedy Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling, which also stars Wamiqa Gabbi and Jaya Bachchan. Alizeh Agnihotri follows her debut in Soumendra Padhi’s 2023 heist thriller Farrey with this musical.
Bahl is already lining up three directorial releases for 2027, including Tribe. He has finished shooting for Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling and Queen Forever, the sequel to his 2013 comedy‑drama Queen. The director’s schedule underscores his continued presence in Bollywood’s evolving landscape.
