Akshay Kumar vs. Saif Ali Khan collide in Priyadarshan’s ‘Haiwaan’ trailer; a blind hero faces a cunning villain

The much‑anticipated trailer for Priyadarshan’s upcoming Hindi thriller “Haiwaan” has just been released, showcasing a high‑stakes showdown between two of Bollywood’s biggest stars: Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. In the clip, Saif’s character is a blind hero, while Akshay steps into the shoes of the film’s antagonist, setting up a tense cat‑and‑mouse dynamic that promises plenty of suspense and drama.

Priyadarshan, who also penned the screenplay, has packed the film with fast‑paced action, unexpected twists, and a punchy background score that underscores the thriller’s gritty atmosphere. The director’s signature style is evident in the energetic visuals, even as the narrative focuses on the psychological battle between the two leads.

“Haiwaan” marks the first time Akshay and Saif have reunited on screen since their earlier collaborations in films like “Main Khiladi Tu Anari,” “Yeh Dillagi,” and “Aarzoo.” The cast also includes Saiyami Kher, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Boman Irani, Rajpal Yadav, Sharib Hashmi, Rajesh Sharma, Pahal Choudhary, and Manoj Joshi, adding depth to the ensemble.

The movie was shot across several picturesque locations, including Kochi, Vagamon, Ooty, and Mumbai, with filming kicking off in Kerala. Production was handled by Venkat K Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fen under KVN Productions and Thespian Films, while Sabu Cyril served as the production designer.

Scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on September 11, 2026, “Haiwaan” also marks Priyadarshan’s first collaboration with Saif Ali Khan. The director has previously worked with Akshay on hits such as “Hera Pheri,” “Garam Masala,” “Bhool Bhulaiyaa,” and its sequel. The film brings together four National Award winners—Priyadarshan, Akshay, Saif, and Sabu Cyril—making it a noteworthy event for Indian cinema enthusiasts.

This project is the second partnership between KVN Productions and Thespian Films, following their joint effort on the Malayalam film “Balan,” directed by Chidambaram after the success of “Manjummel Boys.”
