Kunchacko Boban’s ‘Unmadham’ Hits SonyLIV; Digital debut set for September 4

Malayalam crime‑thriller Unmadham has officially crossed over to the digital realm, debuting on SonyLIV on September 4, 2026. The film, which first hit theatres on July 31, 2026, follows civil police officer Shelly—played by Kunchacko Boban—as he tackles a long‑cold missing‑person case in a remote station, hoping the investigation will secure him a transfer. The story weaves together police procedure, mystery, reality and superstition, creating a tense narrative that keeps viewers guessing.

Directed by Kiran Das, Unmadham boasts a strong ensemble. Boban is joined by Lijomol Jose in the lead roles, while Siddique, Krishna Prabha, Vishak Nair, Sudheesh, Sabumon Abdusamad and Kottayam Nazeer round out the supporting cast. The screenplay was crafted by Shahi Kabir, with cinematography by Arjun Sethu and editing handled jointly by Das and Jithin John. Musical score and background music were delivered by Mujeeb Majeed and Justin Varghese.

The production is a joint effort between Panorama Studios and T‑Series Films, backed by producers Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak. Co‑producers Ram Mirchandani and Rajesh Menon, along with creative producer Abhinav Mehrotra, oversaw the project. Technical contributions include production design by Dileep Nath, sound by Jithin Joseph, costume design by Gayathri Kishore, and makeup by Ronex Xavier.

For audiences who missed the theatrical run, SonyLIV will stream the film in multiple languages—Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi—ensuring a wide reach. The digital release promises to bring the gripping tale of Shelly’s investigation into homes across India, continuing the film’s journey from the silver screen to the streaming platform.
