Cinema VinesMalayalam rom‑com “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” starring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju has pushed its first‑week worldwide gross past the ₹125 crore mark, according to the latest box‑office tracker Sacnilk. On Thursday, August 27, the film collected an estimated ₹8.75 crore net in India, up from ₹7.90 crore the day before, marking a 10.8% increase over Day 6. The cumulative India net tally after seven days now stands at ₹52.30 crore, while the gross in the country is reported at ₹61.05 crore.
Overseas, the movie added another ₹5 crore on Thursday, bringing the overseas gross to ₹63.50 crore. When the domestic and international figures are combined, the worldwide gross after the first seven days reaches an estimated ₹124.55 crore, comfortably eclipsing the ₹125 crore threshold.
The film’s occupancy has also improved, registering an overall 85% in India across 2,340 shows on Day 7. “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” opened with a net of ₹4.90 crore on its first Friday, climbed to ₹7.15 crore on Saturday and ₹8.80 crore on Sunday, before settling at ₹6.90 crore on Monday and ₹7.90 crore on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Directed by Girish A. D. and produced by Dileesh Pothan, Fahadh Faasil and Syam Pushkaran under Bhavana Studios, the movie features a supporting cast that includes Sangeeth Prathap, Suresh Krishna, Vinay Forrt, Roshan Shanavas, Shyam Mohan, Shameer Khan, Srinda, Parvathy Ayyappadas and Meenakshy Raveendran. The screenplay, written by Girish A. D. and Kiran Josey, follows Ashley, who moves into a new neighbourhood and develops a romance with her neighbour Justin, navigating family concerns and social judgment.
Released on Friday, August 21, “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” has completed its first week in theatres. The next Friday, August 28, marks Day 8 of its run, and the film’s performance over the second weekend will be closely watched as it continues to accumulate box‑office revenue.
