Released on August 7, 2026, the Hindi film Hanuman Ansh entered theaters quietly and struggled to attract audiences in its first fortnight. The opening day brought a modest ₹10 lakh, and by the end of the second week the film had earned only ₹1.48 crore, far below the expectations of its makers.
Word of mouth began to shift the tide on Day 17 when the movie’s daily take jumped 65% to ₹2.20 crore. By the third week, the film was pulling in a steady ₹10.40 crore, signalling a growing interest sparked by positive social‑media buzz and audience recommendations.
The real turning point came on the Friday of the fourth week, when Hanuman Ansh collected ₹6.25 crore in a single day, a 197.6% increase from the previous day’s ₹2.10 crore. That surge pushed the film’s total domestic net collection to ₹18.13 crore, more than eight times its reported ₹2 crore production budget.
From an opening day of ₹10 lakh to a Day 22 haul of ₹6.25 crore, the film’s box‑office earnings exploded by 6,150%. The result is an unprecedented 800% profit margin, making Hanuman Ansh one of the most successful low‑budget releases of the year.
Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the story follows the life of Neem Karoli Baba, known as Maharaj‑ji. The official synopsis describes a grieving boy who seeks God to reunite with his mother, only to discover divine love and service through miracles of food and silent blessings, ultimately becoming the spiritual figure of Hanuman Ansh.
During production, Chaturvedi revealed that the film’s producers consulted the spiritual leader Premanand Ji Maharaj. He advised that the on‑screen portrayal of Neem Karoli Baba, played by Shobhinav Satya, observe strict rules, including a vegetarian diet and a respectful, non‑violent set environment.
