Actress Nimisha Sajayan has shed almost 14 kg after bulking up for her role in the Hindi film Babita Singh Reporting. The 58‑kg actress gained weight to reach 72 kg for the character, then embarked on a rigorous weight‑loss journey that she recently documented on social media.
In a series of posts, Nimisha shared before‑and‑after photos and a detailed account of the emotional and physical toll the process took. She admitted that the first ten days were the hardest, describing sleepless nights, mood swings, exhaustion and moments of sheer frustration. “There were so many moments where I genuinely felt like I couldn’t do it,” she wrote, adding that she once sat in front of her trainer and cried, “I can’t do this anymore.”
The actress credited her trainer, Shifas Ali—whom she affectionately calls “Shifukka”—for being her rock throughout the transformation. Nimisha praised his encouragement, noting that he pushed her when she needed an extra push and patiently reminded her to trust the process. She also appreciated that he never made her feel guilty when she struggled, instead finding ways to motivate her to start the next day.
Reflecting on the experience, Nimisha said the journey taught her more than just weight loss. It was a lesson in patience, trusting the process, and the importance of having the right support system. “You made my struggle feel so much easier just by being there,” she wrote, thanking Shifas for believing in her even on days she lost faith in herself.
The transformation was specifically for the investigative crime drama directed by Ambika Pandit, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. Nimisha’s candid tribute to her trainer underscores the often unseen emotional labor behind on‑screen transformations.
