According to the trade tracker, the film’s worldwide gross reached ₹285.20 crore after five days, with an overseas haul of ₹29.25 crore from 2.00 crore added on day five alone.
In India, Toxic collected ₹23.00 crore net on day five across 16,241 shows, a 25.3% occupancy that is slightly higher than the 24.3% seen on Saturday. The Sunday drop was 8.5% from Saturday’s ₹25.15 crore, yet the film still crossed the ₹200‑crore mark domestically, with a five‑day net total of ₹214.10 crore.
Despite the dip, the film remains less than ₹15 crore away from the ₹300‑crore threshold. Its first‑day earnings of ₹101.10 crore set a high bar, but the steady decline has raised concerns about word‑of‑mouth traction. Critics and audiences have pointed to a weak storyline, violent scenes and the portrayal of female characters as factors that could dampen its second‑week performance.
When compared to other 2026 releases, Toxic is already among the stronger performers. Ram Charan’s Peddi has already surpassed ₹315 crore worldwide in five days, while Suriya’s Karuppu closed its run at around ₹304 crore, the highest‑grossing Tamil film of the year to date. However, the film still trails blockbuster titles such as Border 2 (₹450 crore) and Dhurandhar 2 (₹1,813 crore).
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic will need to maintain momentum in the coming week to close the gap with the year’s biggest hits. The challenge lies in converting the initial hype into sustained audience interest amid mixed reviews and growing criticism of its content.
