Netflix India revives Lust Stories with season three; premiere set for September 18

Netflix India has announced that the acclaimed anthology series Lust Stories will return for a third season, slated to premiere on September 18, 2026. The new season, titled Lust Stories 3, will feature four compact yet emotionally charged short films that delve into themes of lust, love, relationships, and suppressed desire. The series promises fresh viewpoints on intimacy, longing, and human connection, exploring these subjects in all their complexity.

Each segment will be helmed by a prominent filmmaker: Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra, and Vishal Bhardwaj. Motwane’s contribution stars Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Vijay Varma, and Abhishek Banerjee, while Batra’s piece brings together Ali Fazal and Radhika Madan. Bhardwaj’s story features the real‑life couple Siddharth and Aditi Rao Hydari, and Rao’s film highlights Gurfateh Pirzada alongside newcomer Sana Thampi.

Critics have praised the series for its bold examination of female sexuality and its thought‑provoking narratives. With this third season, Netflix India will become the first platform to launch an anthology that spans three installments. The new collection is set to examine intimacy in all its contradictions—tender, uncomfortable, restrained, and deeply personal—offering viewers an honest and contemporary perspective on what it means to connect.

According to the makers, each film approaches human connection from a distinct viewpoint, reflecting how desire and relationships are shaped by context, silence, and vulnerability. Together, the stories aim to broaden the conversation around love and longing, giving audiences an intimate look at the nuances of desire. The trailer for Lust Stories 3 is expected to drop in the first week of September, building anticipation for the September 18 premiere.
