Kozhikode Abubacker, famed Mappilappattu singer and composer, died at his Ullisseri Kunnu home at 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, aged 80, after a two‑month battle with a stroke. He had crafted around 3,000 songs, many sung by Yesudas, Chithra, and other Malayalam stars.
