Shah Rukh Khan becomes Vi’s new face; fresh logo marks telecom revamp

Vodafone Idea has unveiled a fresh brand identity, swapping its familiar “V!” logo for a new “Vi” emblem, and announced Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan as the company’s new brand ambassador. The move, part of the telecom operator’s Vi 2.0 strategy, comes as the firm seeks to strengthen its position in a highly competitive market and secure funding for a planned ₹45,000 crore capital expenditure over the next three years.

Shah Rukh Khan, popularly known as SRK, will endorse the telecom service provider throughout the duration of the campaign, though the exact length of the partnership has not been disclosed. The actor’s involvement follows the launch of the new campaign titled “Vi badal raha hai… tayaar rahiye,” which translates to “Vi is changing… be ready.”

Vodafone Idea CEO Abhijit Kishore said the change is “not simply a logo refresh, it is the first expression of the evolution we are bringing to the Vi Brand.” He added that the new identity reflects the company’s ambition for Vi and its commitment to shaping what telecom can be—a “life more rewarding, and full of possibilities for our customers.” Kishore also outlined upcoming strategic launches and experiences that will bring the new brand to life for both retail customers and enterprises.

The announcement arrives as Vodafone Idea works to raise funds for network expansion. The company has reportedly secured financing from the State Bank of India, with its promoters backing guarantees for the proposed loans. In the quarter ended June, Vodafone Idea raised ₹6,400 crore through bank‑funded and non‑funded facilities, the first tranche of its planned ₹35,000 crore fundraising effort. These funds are earmarked for 4G expansion and 5G rollout plans.

In July, Vodafone Idea added 240,114 customers, its highest monthly addition in two years and the fourth consecutive quarter of net customer gains since the start of FY27. This growth aligns with the company’s three‑pillar Vi 2.0 strategy, which focuses on customer additions, double‑digit revenue growth, and a target to triple cash EBITDA over the next three years.

Aditya Birla Group chairman and Vodafone Idea non‑executive chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla noted that the company has moved beyond its “most challenging years” with improved financial clarity, continued promoter support, and renewed investment capacity following the resolution of the long‑pending adjusted gross revenue issue. He said FY26 was a year of resolution and that FY27 marks a period of execution.
