Bollywood stars rally to ease Sudhir Dalvi’s medical costs; generous support from Ranbir Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan and Akshay Kumar

In October 2025, veteran actor Sudhir Dalvi was admitted to Lilavati Hospital after a severe bout of sepsis that left him with life‑threatening complications. The infection damaged his joints and severely limited his mobility, forcing a prolonged stay in the intensive care unit. By the time he was discharged, the family had spent close to ₹10 lakh on his treatment, with doctors warning that the total could exceed ₹15 lakh.

Sudhir, best known for his portrayal of Sai Baba in the 1977 film *Shirdi Ke Sai Baba* and for roles in classic television series such as *Ramayan* and *Chanakya*, now requires a walker and suffers from disorientation. His wife, Suhas Dalvi, shared his current condition in an interview with Subhash K Jha for BollySpice, noting that while he is home, the emotional toll of hospitalization remains heavy.

When news of the mounting bills spread, a wave of support poured in from the film community. Suhas recalled that “many from the film industry came forward to help financially. I can’t immediately recall all the names. But Kartik Aaryan, Ranbir Kapoor, Akshay Kumar were among the first to help.” She added that devotees of Sai Baba and other well‑wisher also contributed, describing the generosity as “overwhelming.”

In addition to individual donations, the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust stepped in during December 2025, granting ₹11 lakh to assist with Sudhir’s medical expenses. The trust’s intervention helped bridge the gap between the family’s outlays and the anticipated costs.

Despite the financial relief, Suhas emphasized that Sudhir’s recovery remains slow and that she, too, is coping with her own health challenges, including asthma. She expressed gratitude for the prayers and support, stating that “at this point, he only needs prayers.” The collective effort from Bollywood stars and the broader community has not only eased the immediate monetary burden but also highlighted the solidarity within the industry during times of crisis.
