Rowling’s first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, giving fans a detailed look at the core cast and the opening scenes of the series. The eight‑episode first season will follow the original book’s storyline and is set to premiere later this year during the Christmas season.
The teaser opens with the iconic sorting ceremony, where each new student is assigned to one of Hogwarts’ houses. The scene shows the students’ excitement as Harry Potter, played by Dominic McLaughlin, is announced as a Gryffindor, followed by cheers from the assembled crowd. The film’s director also introduces the main professors, with John Lithgow portraying Albus Dumbledore and Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, who delivers the school’s rules with a stern tone.
Other key characters are highlighted in the clip. Paapa Essiedu appears as Severus Snape, watching from a distance, while the teaser shows glimpses of the trio’s friendship forming quickly.
