ABC and Disney+ have announced the lineup for “Dancing With the Stars” Season 35, with the first two episodes airing on September 15 and 16. The new season will also stream on Disney+, while episodes will be available on Hulu the day after they air on television.
The season’s cast mixes film, television, sports, music and culinary stars, many of whom are stepping onto the dance floor for the first time. Among the confirmed celebrities are former “Step Up” star Jenna Dewan, “Save the Last Dance” actress Julia Stiles, “Glee” alum Harry Shum Jr., and celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis. Dewan will be partnered with professional Val Chmerkovskiy, Stiles with Ezra Sosa, Shum Jr. with Jenna Johnson, and De Laurentiis with Alan Bersten.
During a “Good Morning America” appearance, De Laurentiis admitted the choreography has been tougher than she expected. She joked that she had thought she might inherit dance talent from a grandmother, only to find the reality “a lot rougher than I thought it would be.” The other announced pairings include Tatyana Ali with Jan Ravnik, Tyler Cameron with Sharna Burgess, Ezra Frech with Daniella Karagach, Amber Glenn with Pasha Pashkov, Taylor Hanson with Britt Stewart, Conner Leavitt with Adele Zaikman, Sarah Jane Nader with Hailey Bills, and Connor Wood with Rylee Arnold.
Earlier in the season’s rollout, several contestants were revealed ahead of the main announcement. Jackson Olson, a second baseman for the Savannah Bananas, will dance with Emma Slater. “Love Island” alum Maura Higgins will be paired with Mark Ballas, while “Summer House” personality Ciara Miller will team up with Brandon Armstrong. Jimmy Kimmel’s sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez will make his debut with Witney Carson, who has announced she will compete while pregnant with her third child.
With a diverse roster that spans multiple entertainment sectors, Season 35 promises fresh challenges and unexpected chemistry as the celebrities vie for the Mirrorball Trophy.
