PV Sindhu dines with Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan; feels a new family in Chennai

Indian badminton star PV Sindhu recently treated Chennai to a delightful dinner hosted by actress Nayanthara and her husband, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. The trio shared a cozy evening in the city, which the athlete captured on her Instagram, posting a series of photos and a heartfelt caption that praised the warmth of the gathering.

In her post, Sindhu wrote, “Beautiful evening. Amazing food. Conversations from the heart and endless laughter.” She went on to say, “Funny how some dinners can change the way you see people. You walk in as friends, talk about life, love and everything in between, and somehow leave feeling like you’ve known each other forever.” The Indian champion added that Chennai had always felt like home because of her beloved aunt, but that the night with Nayanthara and Vignesh made her feel she had a new family in the city.

Both Nayanthara and Vignesh reciprocated Sindhu’s affection. Nayanthara commented on the post with a string of heart and hug emojis, saying, “Love n onlyyyy love for u guys.” Vignesh replied, “Toooo sweeet u two. Lots of love from us always,” and posted a story that read, “@pvsindhu1 not the tough person we see on the court :) you are all heart. And dear Datta my man :) lots of love & respect to you both.” The couple also shared Sindhu’s photo on their own Instagram stories.

The dinner took place in Chennai, a city that has long been a favourite for Sindhu. She noted that her aunt, Senthil Kumar Arthi, has always made her feel at home there, and that the evening with the actress‑filmmaker duo added a new layer of familial affection. Sindhu’s husband, Venkata Datta Sai, was also present, and Bollywood actress Namrata Shirodkar liked the post with heart emojis.

Beyond the dinner, the article highlights the personal milestones of Nayanthara and Vignesh. The pair first met when Vignesh directed her in the 2015 film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, and they announced their engagement in 2021 before marrying in Mahabalipuram in June 2022. In October of that year, they welcomed twins via surrogacy. Their relationship was recently documented in the 2024 Netflix film Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale. Professionally, Vignesh directed Love Insurance Kompany this year, while Nayanthara continues to juggle a busy schedule that includes Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada‑English, and Tamil projects, as well as a forthcoming collaboration with Vamshi Paidipally and Salman Khan.
