Netflix’s Lust Stories 3 Drops New Tales; September 18 Premiere

Netflix is set to roll out the third instalment of its Lust Stories anthology on September 18, bringing a fresh set of narratives that explore the complexities of relationships, desire and human connection. The new edition features four distinct stories crafted by a lineup of celebrated filmmakers – Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj – each offering a unique lens on the themes that have defined the series.

The production is a collaboration between RSVP and Flying Unicorn Entertainment and boasts an ensemble cast that includes Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Radhika Madan, Sana Thampi, Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Siddharth, Ali Fazal and Gurfateh Pirzada. These actors bring depth to the varied tales, underscoring the anthology’s focus on authentic emotional truth.

“What gives Lust Stories its enduring appeal is its ability to reinvent itself,” said Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, Director of Original Films at Netflix India. “Each chapter begins with a shared human impulse and arrives at a completely different emotional truth.” She added that the four directors will bring distinct perspectives while allowing viewers to interpret the stories on their own terms.

Producer Ronnie Screwvala of RSVP highlighted the anthology’s ongoing evolution: “With every edition, Lust Stories has challenged conventions by bringing together exceptional filmmakers to tell deeply human stories. Over the years, the anthology has continued to evolve, reflecting the changing nuances of relationships and the many shades of modern intimacy.” He also praised Netflix’s partnership, noting the platform’s role in giving these stories a global audience.

Ashi Dua, producer of the new edition, emphasized the creative diversity within a shared thematic framework: “What makes Lust Stories special is its ability to bring together unique creative voices while creating a shared emotional experience. Every story in this anthology is different in tone and perspective, yet they are united by their honesty and vulnerability.”

The scripts for the four stories were penned by a team that includes Kiran Rao, Tanaji Dasgupta, Avinash Sampath, Sumukhi Suresh, Shakun Batra, Sameeha Sabnis, Ashwathi Namboodiri, Nitesh Bhatia, Utkarshini Vashishtha and Vishal Bhardwaj. The anthology will premiere on Netflix on September 18, offering viewers a new exploration of intimacy and connection through the eyes of some of India’s most respected storytellers.
