Cinema VinesNetflix’s third instalment of the acclaimed Lust Stories anthology is set to premiere on the streaming platform on a date yet to be announced. The new season will feature an ensemble cast that includes Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Radhika Madan, Sana Thampi, Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Siddharth, Ali Fazal and Gurfateh Pirzada, among others.
Four celebrated Indian filmmakers—Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj—will each direct a distinct narrative that explores love, desire and the complexities of modern relationships. The stories promise to delve into intimacy, vulnerability, agency and the emotional choices that accompany romantic encounters, all while offering unique perspectives that reflect each director’s voice.
Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, Director of Original Films at Netflix India, highlighted the anthology’s enduring appeal. “What gives Lust Stories its enduring appeal is its ability to reinvent itself. Each chapter begins with a shared human impulse and arrives at a completely different emotional truth,” she said. “Here, desire opens a window into power, vulnerability, agency, compromise, and the things people struggle to say aloud.” She added that the four directors “bring four distinct perspectives, united by a singular vision: inviting audiences to interpret these relationships through the lens of their own experiences.”
Producer Ronnie Screwvala of RSVP echoed this sentiment, noting how each edition of Lust Stories has pushed conventional ideas about relationships. “With every edition, Lust Stories has challenged conventions by bringing together exceptional filmmakers to tell deeply human stories,” he said. “Over the years, the anthology has continued to evolve, reflecting the changing nuances of relationships and the many shades of modern intimacy.”
Flying Unicorn Entertainment’s producer Ashi Dua also expressed excitement about the new chapter, underscoring the creative legacy that the franchise has built. The collaboration between RSVP and Flying Unicorn Entertainment aims to continue this legacy, offering audiences fresh narratives while leaving space for personal interpretation.
