Mohunlal’s latest venture, titled Operation Ganga, has officially entered production, with the 367th film in the veteran actor’s career slated for a sprawling 180‑day shoot across six locations. The project, produced by Sree Gokulam Movies and backed by Gokulam Gopalan, is a pan‑Indian effort that will see the team travel to Poland, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Delhi, Dehradun and Kochi.
The film’s name pays homage to India’s Operation Ganga, the large‑scale evacuation that brought thousands of Indian nationals home from the Russia‑Ukraine conflict. Director Vishnu Mohan, who made his debut with Meppadiyan, is helming the story, which promises a mix of political drama and high‑octane action.
Mohunlal is expected to join the shoot soon in Georgia, where principal photography has already begun. He will be surrounded by a notable ensemble that includes Bollywood stalwarts Arjun Rampal and Adil Hussain, as well as Bhagyashree Borse and Parthiban. The cast is further complemented by a crew that brings international expertise to the set.
Music will be composed by Shashwat Sachdev, known for his work on Dhurandhar, while Miroslav Kuba Brozek, the cinematographer behind Pushpa and Pushpa 2, will handle the camera. Action sequences are being choreographed by Oh Se‑yeong, who has previously worked on Dhurandhar and Kill.
Operation Ganga represents the largest undertaking yet for Sree Gokulam Movies, which also has high‑profile titles such as Ottakomban starring Suresh Gopi, Kathanar featuring Jayasurya, and Killer directed by S. J. Suryah. The film’s ambitious schedule and international scope mark a significant step forward for both the director and the production house.
