In a candid conversation with Hindustan Times, Kavva revealed the intensity of matching the voice and emotional nuances of a figure as iconic as Michael Jackson. He explained that he had to “modulate my voice for various projects” and that the role required a “soft but firm” tone that carried the sadness inherent in the character. Kavva noted that each scene presented a new challenge, from scenes of Michael assembling a team to moments of inspiration and vulnerability, and that he had to keep the voice in sync with the on‑screen emotions.
The actor traced his path to voice acting back to his childhood, where he accompanied his two uncles, both dubbing artists, to recording sessions. Kavva described the environment as one devoid of lights, sets, and cameras, relying solely on headphones, a microphone, and a small studio room to create an entire atmosphere. He emphasized that voice actors are often given only a single scene without knowledge of the broader narrative, making each performance a distinct challenge that requires rapid adaptation.
Kavva also shared a recent experience working on the film Kalki 2898 AD, where he received an audition call just 15 days before the release. He was selected to dub the character of Luke and completed the work in six hours, illustrating the fast‑paced nature of the industry. His insights highlight the demanding yet rewarding world of voice acting, where versatility and emotional precision are paramount.
