Cinema VinesA content creator from Noida, Anamika, recently shared a distressing account of her visit to a cinema in the city while watching the newly released film Mirzapur: The Movie. In a video posted on Saturday, she explained that she and a friend had to leave the auditorium because the audience was reportedly intoxicated and unruly. Anamika said, “We came out of the theatre, not because the film was bad, but because the crowd was so bad. People have come drunk.” She added that the situation escalated to the point where the pair were told to leave and that the theatre staff were unable to remove the disruptive patrons.
When Anamika updated her video later that evening, she clarified that the theatre management had offered to move them to another auditorium but refused to eject the problem guests. She expressed frustration, noting that the staff suggested dialing emergency services instead of taking action themselves. “What is this? They are telling us to dial 100. Why would we? The management (of the theatre) should do it,” she said. The creator did not name the specific cinema, but she tagged Wave Cinemas in her post.
Her video sparked a wave of responses on social media. Many viewers applauded her decision to walk out, calling it a demonstration of civic responsibility and kindness. One commenter wrote, “Kindness and civic sense make every space safer and better for all.” Another noted, “This is the scene in most theatres in tier‑2.” Some viewers also shared their own negative experiences at similar venues.
“Mirzapur: The Movie” is an origin story for the feud between the Tripathis and the Pandits, adapted from the Amazon Prime Video series. Directed by Gurmeet Singh, written by Puneet Krishna, and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment, the film stars Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi and Divyenndu, with Jitendra Kumar replacing Vikrant Massey in the role of Bablu Pandit. The film opened in theatres on Friday, earning ₹57 crore net domestically in its first two days and receiving positive reviews from critics.
