The trio will study at Emory University in Atlanta, Babson College in Massachusetts, and New York University, respectively, pursuing courses in Artificial Intelligence in Business, Entrepreneurship and Finance, and Economics and Data Science.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Sunday, Farah shared photos of herself with her children as she dropped them off at their new campuses. She wrote, “If you thought moving your kid to college was hard… try doing it three times! Three cities, three campuses… three goodbyes! Three pieces of my heart.” The post was accompanied by the title track of Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, a song she explained was chosen for its emotional resonance. The actress also added, “Jao jee lo apni zindagi (go live your lives)… but remember, all roads lead back to Dad & mom.”
The post drew a flurry of reactions from Bollywood peers. Karan Johar commented, “Best mom ever.” Rhea Kapoor expressed disbelief at how quickly the children had grown, while Shilpa Shirodkar wished them success and assured them they would return as the best versions of themselves. Other fans, including Siddharth, Namrata Shirodkar, Riddhima Kapoor, and Maheep Kapoor, sent heart emojis and congratulatory messages.
Farah had previously discussed the challenges of sending her children to college on the Prime Video show Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle. She revealed that the financial burden of three university degrees prompted her to start a YouTube channel, which she described as a “change of pace.” She noted that even during periods when her film projects were on hold, she remained active online, sharing cooking videos with her friend Dileep.
Earlier this year, after the children graduated from school, Farah posted a photo of the family and reflected on the bittersweet moment of letting them go. She wrote, “Don’t know which is tougher… raising your kids or letting them go? They can fly as high as they dream… there’ll always be a nest waiting for them.” The actress, who holds a Master’s degree in Journalism and has worked as a field reporter and sub-editor for The Times of India and Reader’s Digest, continues to balance her love for cinema with her role as a mother and content creator.
