Salman Khan is set to reprise his role as the charismatic host of the twenty‑first season of India’s most watched reality show, Bigg Boss. The much‑anticipated premiere is scheduled for September 6, with the first episode airing on the OTT platform JioHotstar at 9 p.m. and a delayed television broadcast on Colors TV at 10:30 p.m. The new season, titled ‘Vardaan’, promises fresh drama and unexpected twists under Khan’s guidance.
Fans can expect a star‑studded lineup of contestants, with rumours already swirling around high‑profile names. Among those hinted at are Isha Rikhi, the estranged wife of rapper Badshah, and Rhiti Tiwari, daughter of actor‑politician Manoj Tiwari. Other potential participants include Faisal Khan (brother of Aamir Khan), former partner Uditi Singh of Karan Wahi, Kushal Tanwar, Qazi Touqeer, Yung DSA, Showik Chakraborty (brother of Rhea Chakraborty), Khushi Dubey, and even boxing legend Mary Kom. The makers have released several teasers that keep the audience guessing about the full roster.
Bigg Boss 20’s house is designed around the theme of duality, blending contrasting elements to create an unconventional and vibrant setting. The interior draws inspiration from the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland, featuring familiar objects with unexpected twists. A special feature, Room No. 20, has been kept under wraps, with its surprise set to be unveiled as the season progresses, adding an extra layer of intrigue for viewers.
In the official trailer, Salman Khan highlighted the season’s central twist, referring to an “extra lease on life” that will be offered to contestants. He teased that the concept of “Jeevan Daan” will be more complex than it appears, promising that the true nature of the game will unfold once the housemates enter the premises. “The game in Bigg Boss changes every year,” Khan remarked, “and this time it’s not just the game that’s changing, but the way it is played as well.”

The OTT‑first strategy will continue this year, with JioHotstar streaming the episodes before a later television telecast on Colors TV.
