Cinema VinesBigg Boss Malayalam 8 is set to launch on television and digital platforms today, September 6, with a grand opening at 7 PM. The show will stream on JioHotstar and on Asianet, and Malayalam superstar Mohanlal will return as the host for the eighth season.
While the official contestant list is still pending, several names have surfaced in the media. The show’s commoner selection process, Agni Pareeksha, began with 40 aspirants and was narrowed to 12 finalists. Judges Ranjini Haridas, Riyas Salim and Akhil Marar oversaw the selection. The 12 finalists announced so far are Shijin, Shamon, Eldo, Shyam, Tashi, Rakesh, Shijulal, Lolita, Shibin, Pooja, Sona and Afianas.
Additional names linked to the season include Gayathri Suresh, Kadal Komban, Mridula Vijay, Sreelakshmi Arakkal, Vicky Thug, Rini Ann George, Nobi Biju, Aishwarya Madhu, Sumesh Chandran, Kali, Sreelaya, Vivek Gopan, Neha Fathima, Gautham Sasi, Muhammed Aseef, Jaseela Parveen and Rahul Easwar. Among the reported commoner contestants are Lolita, Eldo, Rakesh and Shijin.
The grand launch episode will reveal the final lineup, confirming which of the names circulating in the press have actually made it into the competition. Viewers tuning in at 7 PM will see the introductions and learn the definitive roster for the new season.
