On Sunday, September 6, host Mohanlal announced that four commoner contestants—Shijin S, Eldho George, Rakesh Jacob, and Loletta Loryne Rodrigues—have secured spots in the Bigg Boss Malayalam 8 house after the conclusion of the Agnipareeksha selection process. The pre‑show competition began with 40 aspirants vying for a place, and the field was narrowed down to 12 finalists. The final decision combined audience votes with judges’ verdicts, resulting in eight finalists being eliminated at the last stage while the four named contestants moved forward to the main show.
Shijin’s journey was marked by criticism from fellow contestants who questioned his communication skills and task approach during Agnipareeksha. Despite doubts about his gameplay style, he earned sufficient audience support and judges’ backing to secure a spot. Eldho George faced similar scrutiny over his conduct and strategy, yet his performance in several challenges kept him in contention. Notably, during a task where participants had to identify who deserved entry into the Bigg Boss house, Eldho was the only one who explicitly declared that Shijin was fully deserving, highlighting a bond that will carry them into the main house together.
Rakesh Jacob and Loletta Loryne Rodrigues also emerged from the final round as part of the four selected contestants, joining the rest of the housemates introduced during the grand premiere. Their inclusion marks the official start of the eighth season of Bigg Boss Malayalam, with Mohanlal at the helm as host.
With Agnipareeksha now complete, the newly selected commoners will face a new phase of competition alongside the other participants inside the Bigg Boss Malayalam 8 house, setting the stage for a season filled with drama, alliances, and unexpected twists.
