The veteran actor’s milestone was marked by a flurry of social‑media tributes that highlighted his five‑decade career and his status as a national treasure.
Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan was among the first to acknowledge the legend, posting a heartfelt note on X that praised Mammootty as “the pride of Malayalam cinema” and an “eternal inspiration to Indian cinema itself.” State Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala also sent birthday wishes, calling the occasion a day of celebration for the people of Kerala. In his Facebook post, Chennithala lauded the actor’s self‑made talent and cited classic films such as “Puzhu,” “Bhramayugam,” “Kathal,” and “Kalankaval” to underscore his enduring versatility.
Film director Vysakh expressed personal admiration for the star, calling him “Mammukka” and noting that the actor’s influence extends beyond the screen. “You are not just someone I admire in cinema, Mammukka. You are someone who has inspired me personally in so many ways,” Vysakh wrote, adding heartfelt thanks for the actor’s presence and words.
Actress Maala Parvathi echoed the sentiment, remarking that while time ages everyone, it only deepens Mammootty’s magic. “Time ages everyone, but in you, it only deepens the magic of the actor. The 75‑year‑old superstar’s filmography spans over 400 titles in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and English, earning him three National Awards, seven state awards, 14 Filmfare honours, the Padma Shri, and two honorary doctorates. His debut in 1971’s “Anubhavangal Palichakal” set the stage for a prolific career that includes classics like “New Delhi,” “Thaniyavarthanam,” “Oru Vadakkan Veera Gatha,” “Oru CBI Diary Kurup,” “Kutty Srank,” and “Paleri Manikyam.” He has collaborated with acclaimed directors such as Adoor Gopalakrishnan, K.
