Netflix’s Lust Stories 3 drops September 18; star‑studded anthology explores modern love

Netflix India is set to release the third season of its popular anthology series Lust Stories on September 18. The new collection promises a fresh take on love, desire and the tangled web of modern relationships, with each episode helmed by a different filmmaker.

Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj will each direct a standalone story that explores intimacy and the emotions that come with it. The anthology is produced by RSVP and Flying Unicorn Entertainment, with Ronnie Screwvala and Ashi Dua backing the project.

The ensemble cast features Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Radhika Madan, Sana Thampi, Vijay Varma, Abhishek Banerjee, Siddharth, Ali Fazal and Gurfateh Pirzada. Writing credits are shared among Kiran Rao, Tanaji Dasgupta, Avinash Sampath, Sumukhi Suresh, Shakun Batra, Sameeha Sabnis, Ashwathi Namboodiri, Nitesh Bhatia, Utkarshini Vashishtha and Vishal Bhardwaj.

Director Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, who oversees Original Films at Netflix India, said the series “continues to make the anthology stand out and brings together four filmmakers with very different voices.” She added, “What gives Lust Stories its enduring appeal is its ability to reinvent itself. Each chapter begins with a shared human impulse and arrives at a completely different emotional truth.”

Kapoor Sheikh further explained that the four directors “bring four distinct perspectives, united by a singular vision: inviting audiences to interpret these relationships through the lens of their own experiences.” She concluded that the anthology’s power lies in offering a distinct perspective while leaving room for personal interpretation.
