Cinema VinesKrystle D’Souza revealed that she was called by director Mukesh Chhabra for the shoot of the song “Shararat” only four days before filming, a surprise that left her stunned. The call came while she was at home, surrounded by friends, and Chhabra simply mentioned that the team was looking for a girl who could nail the dance and that she was the only one already selected.
When asked about the experience on Farah Khan’s YouTube channel, D’Souza admitted she was not a trained dancer and had only performed at a few award shows. She said she immediately consulted her friends, who all encouraged her to take the opportunity. “I was very scared,” she told Khan, adding that the choreography was still being finalized and they had to learn 11 different steps before the hook was settled.
The track, composed by Sashwat Sachdev and sung by Madhubanti Bagchi and Jasmine Sandlas, is set during a posh Karachi wedding in Ranveer Singh’s spy thriller Dhurandhar. The film, which also stars Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt, became India’s highest‑grossing film of 2025 and the song quickly went viral on social media.
D’Souza added that she had no idea the film would achieve such success when she first heard about the shoot. She described the rehearsal process, which involved choreographer Vijay Ganguly and director Aditya Dhar, and how the team’s confidence in her performance ultimately secured her role in the item number.
While discussing her recent win on “The Traitors” Season 2, D’Souza also highlighted the buzz surrounding “Shararat,” noting that it has become a chart‑buster thanks to its catchy beats and energetic choreography.
